bkfrogmaNo, this is actually the World's End on the Hudson - this is a very sharp dogleg bend in the river just north of West Point. I think that if I had to choose, I might pick this stretch as the most scenic stretch of the extremely scenic Hudson Highlands. In the days of sail, this was a very tricky area - the winds are shifty, there's a bit of a wind-tunnel effect & negotiating the double bend was tough. I imagine it still requires some careful piloting now - tug & barge came through here a little ways behind us - they were at an absolute crawl.Oct 25, 2005from the photo: The end of World's End -
